Vesa kettle

Physical product design
Design Principles II

For this 2 week studio project, I was tasked with designing a tea kettle inspired by an object from the natural world. For my inspiration source, I chose a seedling of Olearia calcarea—a species of daisy endemic to Australia. I was drawn to the directionality of the seedling’s radicles, which reminded me of outstretched tentacles.
