Prospect is a new AI-powered code search engine. Unlike existing tools which rely on regular expression and edit distance, prospect leverages natural language processing (NLP) to more intelligently offer relevant results, thus increasing developer productivity.
In executing this project, I tried to balance the product’s code-centric function with its intelligent and human-oriented vaue propositon. To achieve this, I focused on balancing the aesthetic language and formatting requirements of code with human touches that reflected the product’s capability for NLP. To complement the user interface of industry standard coding editors and reduce visual disruption, I opted for a dark theme.
